Who We Are

About the Organization
Yemeni Parliamentarians Against Corruption (Yemen PAC) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization primarily aimed at coordinating the efforts of parliamentarians and others to combat corruption and promote accountability within state institutions.

It also seeks to develop the capacities of the parliament and parliamentarians to oversee the activities of the government and other institutions, including encouraging them to propose and follow up on the implementation of legislation to promote good governance.

The organization was established in 2005 and is the national branch of the Arab Parliamentarians Against Corruption (ARPAC) and the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC). Yemen PAC comprises a group of current and former parliamentarians.

A society characterized by transparency, accountability, and good governance, capable of achieving sustainable development.

Mission
To develop policies and practices that promote transparency and accountability, support the rule of law, and combat corruption through training, awareness-raising, and strengthening partnerships to ensure a better life and inclusive development at the national and local levels.

Objectives
Based on the organization’s bylaws and the goals for which it was established, the following strategic objectives have been formulated:

1. Enhancing legislation, policies, and practices aimed at achieving transparency, accountability, and combating corruption at both national and local levels, particularly by encouraging the parliament and parliamentarians to enact and follow up on legislation to promote good governance, transparency, and accountability.
2. Contributing to training, support, and capacity building of employees in official institutions to improve governance, including developing the capacities of the parliament and parliamentarians to better oversee and hold the government and other public institutions accountable.
3. Raising public awareness about integrity, accountability, and transparency, and promoting community participation in combating corruption. This includes educating parliamentarians and policymakers about the dangers of corruption and advocating for integrating and activating anti-corruption measures within government programs and operations.
4. Strengthening partnerships and networking among national, regional, and international bodies and organizations to enhance anti-corruption efforts.
